Youku’s latest drama Dashing Youth has released new posters ahead of its premiere today.
The series stars Hou Minghao, He Yu, and Hu Lianxin, with special appearances by Xia Zhiguang, Jiang Zhenyu, Bai Shu, and Zhang Chenxiao.
Adapted from Zhou Mu Nan’s novel Shao Nian Bai Ma Zui Chun Feng (少年白马醉春风), the drama is set in a fantastical wuxia world.
It follows Baili Dong Jun, the young master of the Marquis of Zhenxi’s mansion, who, despite his disinterest in traditional pursuits, excels in brewing wine due to a childhood agreement with his murdered friend, Ye Yun, to become a “Liquor Deity.”
Fate leads Baili Dong Jun to the renowned school of Li Chang Sheng, where he begins to learn martial arts.
There, he meets Yue Yao and reunites with Ye Yun, who now goes by Ye Ding Zhi. Influenced by his new friends, Baili starts to reconsider his role and responsibilities.
As years pass, Ye Ding Zhi is manipulated into waging war against the Central Plains, prompting Baili Dong Jun to lead a group of heroes to defend his homeland and his friend.
Dashing Youth is a wuxia and fantasy drama with 40 episodes, airing daily on Youku. It combines action, adventure, and a touch of romance with a focus on martial arts and friendship.
