Kim Young Jae Joins JTBC’s Upcoming Family Drama ‘Romance in the House’

JTBC’s highly anticipated drama Romance in the House has announced the addition of Kim Young Jae to its cast. 

Kim will take on the role of Oh Jae-gyeol, a tax accountant who works closely with Ji Jin Hee’s character. 

And, the series, which melds romance, drama, family, and melodrama, is set to premiere on August 10, 2024.

The drama centers on Byun Moo Jin (Ji Jin Hee), who reappears in his family’s lives as the new owner of their apartment building. Moo Jin, who has been divorced from his wife Geum Ae Yeon (Kim Jee Soo) for 11 years, want to rekindle their relationship.

His return disrupts the lives of his children, Byun Mi Rae (Son Na Eun) and Byun Hyun Jae (Choi Min Ho). While Mi Rae, now the family’s breadwinner and MD at a big mart, opposes her father’s efforts at reconciliation, Hyun Jae supports him. 

The supporting cast includes Jung Woong In as Nam Chi Yeol, the father of security guard Nam Tae Pyung (Yoon San Ha), who works at the same mart as Mi Rae.

Tae Pyung, once a national taekwondo team member, hides his true identity and his connection to the mart’s ownership.

Romance in the House will air on JTBC on Saturdays and Sundays, with a total of 12 episodes. Viewers are especially keen to tune into this drama because of the impressive lineup and anticipation is high.
