iQIYI’s new costume drama, A Moment But Forever, has officially obtained a distribution licence, meaning it’s set for wider release and availability. 

According to the iQIYI synopsis, the xianxia drama follows Goddess Wu Shuang, who comes to Earth to retrieve a valuable treasure and ends up falling in love with Yuan Zhong, a high priest. 

Together, they must deal with a conflict between gods and demons. The story also involves the artifact God’s Left Hand, which falls to the Mortal Realm and causes a period without miracles.

Adapted from the novel Tian Xia Wu Shuang by Shi Si Lang, the series is directed by Guo Hu, known for works like Only For Love and Immortal Samsara. The script is by Xiao Xiang Dong Er, who worked on Arsenal Military Academy and Love and Destiny.

The 36-episode series will air in 2024 on CCTV iQIYI, with each episode running about 45 minutes. 

The early footage shows impressive cinematography and CGI, so there’s clearly a high production value. The excitement for the debut episode is through the roof.
