Have you ever watched a drama that felt like an extended pause or a long breath of fresh air?

I’ve watched quite a few Korean dramas in my life and there are some I always, always come back to. 

These cozy shows are just the thing if you want to feel relaxed and calm and totally immersed in peace so I know you’ll love them. 

1. Reply 1988 (2015)

Set in the late 1980s in a neighborhood in Seoul, this drama follows the lives of five friends and their families as they navigate friendship, love, and growing pains.

2. When the Weather is Fine (2020)

As she reconnects with old friends and finds solace in the quiet beauty of rural life, you  can literally see her become more comfortable as she basks in her cozy and tranquil world.

3. When the Camellia Blooms (2019)

This drama is set in a small fictional town called Ongsan and revolves around the life of Dongbaek, a single mother who runs a bar. 

When a kind-hearted police officer enters her life, their budding romance faces challenges from the small-town gossip and a mysterious serial killer.

While primarily set in a hospital, this drama beautifully showcases the camaraderie and relationships among a group of doctors and friends. 

The small-town hospital setting adds to the cozy and intimate feel of the drama, and I promise this one is delightful in all the ways that count.

5. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo (2016)

While not a traditional romantic drama, My Mister shows the deep and meaningful connection between a middle-aged man and a young woman going through difficult times. 

You guys, this healing drama absolutely wrecked me and them put me back together and I actually felt like giving them all a big hug so you’ll love it too. 

9. Coffee Prince (2007)

In this classic romantic comedy, a tomboyish girl pretends to be a boy in order to work at a café where the employees are all male. 

And soon enough, she’s bonding with her co-workers and falling in love with the café’s owner in the sweetest, most heartwarming way ever.

When a timid assistant chef gets possessed by a lustful ghost, her personality undergoes a dramatic change, much to the confusion of her coworkers. 

This might not feel like the coziest drama on the face of it, but watching our possessed lead interact with the ghost’s family and try to lift their burden was the sweetest thing.
