These romantic action and thriller Kdramas will make you swoon happily and take your breath away. 

They’re all so, so good and I can assure you you’re going to be 100% obsessed – they blend the swoons and the thrills so well it’s almost unbelievable. 

1. The K2

Former mercenary Kim Je Ha, known as K2, turns fugitive after being wrongly accused of his girlfriend’s murder. 

Somehow, he becomes a bodyguard for Choi Yoo Jin, wife of presidential candidate Jang Se Joon, while he plans to take revenge against Park Kwan Soo (he believes the other man is responsible for his girlfriend’s death). 

But it all becomes complicated when he’s tasked with guarding Se Joon’s illegitimate daughter, Go An Na and he starts developing feelings for her. 

Ji Chang Wook stars as Kim Je Ha in this lovely action and romance Korean drama and I’ll tell you right now that this man had chemistry with the two female leads – it was so amazing!

2. Lawless Lawyer

Bong Sang Pil, a former gangster turned lawyer, wants to get justice for his mother’s death. 

Teaming up with lawyer Ha Jae Yi, they take on powerful figures using legal loopholes and physical prowess. 

In time, the fantastic duo face a dangerous game involving a senior judge and a former gangster turned CEO as they try to take on the city’s most powerful individuals.

3. Terius Behind Me

Single mother Go Ae Rin and spy Kim Bon, code-named Terius, discover a conspiracy after Ae Rin’s husband’s mysterious death. 

Joined by former con man Jin Young Tae and NIS agent Yoo Ji Yeon, they all join the spy war and eventually reveal hidden truths that catapult into unexpected threats. 

4. Come And Hug Me

Yoon Na Moo and Gil Nak Won’s childhood love is shattered when Na Moo’s psychopath father murders Nak Won’s parents. 

Years later, Na Moo becomes a detective who is looking for redemption, and Nak Won an aspiring actress, but when their paths cross again, they’ll be tested again.

I always, always say this but Na Moo and Nak Won’s relationship was by far the most romantic, genuine, and wholesome one I’ve ever seen. 

And the romantic action drama was all the more smoother because of the race to find the serial killer prowling the streets while preserving their love.

5. Happiness

Special agent Yoon Sae Bom, while posing as a married couple with detective Jung Yi Hyun, is forcefully quarantined in a civil servant apartment complex. 

The residents’ varied responses reveal a social caste system, and this shows the best and worst that could happen when humans are put in a challenging situation.

6. He Is Psychometric

Lee Ahn started having psychometric abilities after losing his parents, and so he teams up with Yoon Jae In, who has painful secrets. 

Assisted by prosecutor Kang Seong Mo and investigator Eun Ji Soo, they set out to tackle a case linked to Kang’s parents and they all find healing and the truth through past, present, and future connections.

7. The Last Empress

Set in an alternate universe with a constitutional monarchy, Oh Sunny, a musical actress, marries the emperor. 

And with palace power struggles underfoot and a mysterious murder, she finds an unlikely ally in bodyguard Na Wang Shik and they soon set out to get more information about the many powers threatening the monarchy. 

Meanwhile, Wang Shik wants to get revenge for his mother’s death within the imperial family, and this is another fantastic recommendation if you want an interesting Korean drama with lots of action and romance. 

8. When The Camellia Blooms

Single mother Dong Baek, running a bar in Ongsan, is almost used to the gossip that follows her everywhere, but when a serial killer’s threats get thrown into the mix, she soon realizes she’s way over her head. 

Local police officer Hwang Yong Shik is deeply in love with her and he tries his best to support Dong Baek through it all. 

I live for absolutely whipped male leads and Yong Shik gave a new meaning to the word “loser” in the most beautiful way ever. 

9. Black

A detective possessed by the Grim Reaper and a woman who sees shadows of death struggle to save lives and end up breaking heavenly rules. 

Ha Ram’s ability and Detective Black’s partnership lead them into a challenging battle against supernatural forces and it’s so thrilling!

10. IRIS

Best friends Kim Hyun Joon and Jin Sa Woo join a secret organization, NSS, and fall for analyst Choi Seung Hee. 

Hyun Joon’s solo mission in Hungary leads to him discovering a conspiracy involving IRIS, as he tries to get his revenge and reveal the organization’s motives.

11. Strong Woman Do Bong Soon

Do Bong Soon has an inherited superhuman strength and after a set of peculiar incidents, she becomes a bodyguard for CEO Ahn Min Hyuk. 

There’s a good deal of romance in this light fantasy Kdrama and even a love triangle, and with the plotline about the serial killer, it’s also another amazing pick you’ll enjoy if you want a romance and action Korean drama.
